A Long Time coming

I know it has been awhile since I updated the BR, but I have been busy underachieving in school. It did give me some satisfaction however when I found out that only 373 other students out of roughly 4500 graduating seniors were double majors like me. Of course my double major was completely accidental and the result of me failing to graduate in 4 years, but who is counting.

Anyway in this post I would like to thank all the people people who hindered my progress and forced me to come back for a 5th year.

1st person to thank- William H. Baugh. Baugh is a political science teacher who first coined the term "protracted affair" and he made me lose all faith in the educational process. Baugh made us buy his book for roughly $150 insisting that it was necessary for his course, and then we didn't end up reading it once. He also managed to skip the first day of class due to the snow (he said he lived to far up in the Coburg Hills) while docking points from students who failed to show up. Plus he told the class the best way to kill yourself was with a plastic bag because we wouldn't feel anything. Classy guy

2nd person to thank- All my group mates who sucked. Several classes in the college of business require group projects, however the groups are decided at random. All the people who were ever in my groups blew. I even got assigned a girl who could not read.

3rd person to thank- Fellow students for stealing my idea. In my BA352 class I came up with the idea that the University should operate a charter bus during Finals week that would take students up to the Portland Airport. Not only did I propose this idea, but I also did hundreds of hours of related research that supported the feasibility of such an idea. I was told however by one of my professors that the idea was "not feasible" and so I never pursued it. However earlier this year I read this article and discovered that two students who were in my BA352 class had stolen my idea. It pains me to think that I could be a successful bus operator right now if I had been allowed to follow my dream.

4th person to thank- The creators of NCAA Football video games.

5th person to thank- Kevin Sully. Kevin came to Eugene this past weekend during deadweek and naturally wanted to hang out with me and Samudio since we know where all the big parties are. However his timing was horrible as he came the weekend before finals. Despite his desperate urging, I resisted the urge to hang out with him and concentrated on my finals. Samudio on the other hand is mentally weak and could not resist the urge of hanging out with this mysterious L.A hearthrob. He paid the price for it later by getting a 53 on his final the following Monday.

It is no coincidence that Kevin came the week before finals as he clearly is intimidated by my assault on all his academic records. He clearly realized that a Political Science and Accounting degree > a journalism and Political Science degree. Shame on him for failing to realize that records are meant to be broken.
